Middle of Memorial
This is a Lincoln statue that is located in between the North and South chambers of the memorial. On the wall behind Lincoln there is a quote by Royal Cortissoz that says,
"IN THIS TEMPLE
AS IN THE HEARTS OF THE PEOPLE
FOR WHOM HE SAVED THE UNION
THE MEMORY OF ABRAHAM LINCON
IS ENSHRINED FOREVER".
North Chamber
The North chamber of the memorial has Lincoln's second speech that he gave when he became the president for his second term, called his inaugural speech. The speech starts out,
"FELLOW COUNTRYMEN AT THIS SECOND APPEARING TO TAKE THE OATH OF THE OATH OF THE PRESIDENTIAL OFFICE THERE IS LESS OCCASION FOR AN EXTENDED ADDRESS THAN THERE WAS AT THE FIRST."

South Chamber
The South Chamber of the memorial has Lincoln's speech known as the Gettysburg Address. The speech starts out,
"FOUR SCORE AND SEVEN YEARS AGO OUR FATHERS BROUGHT FORTH ON THIS CONTINENT A NEW NATION CONCEIVED IN LIBERTY AND DEDICATED TO THAT PROPOSITION THAT ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL."
This speech was given By President Lincoln on November 19, 1863 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. This speech is known to be his best speech ever given. The speech was given during the Civil War at a soldier cemetery dedication.
Top of the Steps
At the top of the steps of the memorial is engraved Martin Luther King, Jr.'s speech title. the engraving reads,
"I HAVE A DREAM
MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR
THE MARCH ON WASHINGTON
FOR JOBS AND FREEDOM
AUGUST 28, 1963"
Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech was delivered at the top of the Lincoln Memorial steps, and was focused on the topic of ending racism, which Lincoln himself was very much for.
